Update

March 4th, 2008

Hey everyone, Stew j. here. Just thought i’d make a little post about what’s going on around here at the moment. As usual we have a bunch of stuff in the works. Walter just finished up issue 68 yesterday and i haven’t seen it yet, but hear it’s pretty good. It includes the V-club trip where Randy Taylor whips a hundred or so stairs. There is also a Nathan Williams bio in there that will no doubt be awesome. As far as things go that i am working on, i’ve been filming with Brian Kachisnky for a while for his Props interview. If you know Brian, things don’t always go as planned. Sometimes he pulls the trick, and sometimes the trick pulls him….straight to the ground, that is. Anyway, as you can see from the sequence of events below, sometimes the unexpected happens. We were shooting for his interview to come out in issue 69, but it looks like it might have to wait until issue 70. Either way, it is going to be a sight to behold. Also, in the pipeline for issue 69 is a road trip with the Hoffman Bikes team. I believe that Colorado and New Mexico will be the destinations. With B-Simms and Sethro on board, it won’t disappoint. Issue 69 is also set to include a full length interview with pro flatlander Terry Adams. If you are familiar with Terry, you know that you are going to see some mind-boggling moves. We don’t have flatland in Props near enough, so i am looking forward to this project. Anyway, that’s it for me, i’m signing off. Take care everyone. See ya round.

I’d like to start this off by saying thanks to EVERYONE who helped out with these auctions. A HUGE thanks to Chris Rye for running the auctions, thanks to Empire BMX, FBM, the guys at RideBMX, Marco and Brenda Massei for shipping out the bikes, thanks to Rob Dolecki & Talem C. for taking some of the photos, and last but not least…a sincere thank you to Mat Hoffman, Chase Hawk, Mike Aitken, Rob Wise, Morgan Wade, Corey Martinez, Fuzzy Hall, Sergio Layos, Ruben Alcantara, and A.J. After all was said and done, and after paypal fees and shipping costs, we will be cutting a check to Stephen and his family for a little over $9,000.
Again, thanks so much for supporting a rider in need and showing that the BMX family is indeed one that takes care of it’s own.It is truly appreciated.

Road Fools ‘08

November 2nd, 2007

Road Fools is scheduled to hit the road sometime in April ‘08. This is going to be a good ‘ole fashioned all street trip presented once again by our friends at Levi’s. The crew is starting to come together as we speak and will be announced shortly, and we will be traveling somewhere in the southern half of the United States. ( so I guess I need clarify…every Road Fools trip for 10 YEARS has been intended to be street riding of course we will end up riding skateparks due to inclement weather…By stating a “good ole’ fashioned all street trip,” the intention was to clarify that this would not be another Rock Tour. wow..people need to calm down..we are just doing what we have done for 15 years…film BMX….c’mon people we are not abandoning ramp riders or trail riders…it will be the same eclectic mix of talented riders that has made up every Road Fools trip since 1998!

In other news, Props Issue 67 will be shipping in mid-November and editing of MegaTour Europe is underway!

Stephen Murray eBay Auctions - ENDED

October 26th, 2007

THANKS TO ALL WHO BID!!

I’m sure by now most of you are familiar with the life changing injuries that Stephen Murray sustained back in June at the Baltimore Dew Tour.

This accident occurred just days prior to Props Rock-N-Roll Tour hitting the road. Obviously, Stephen Murray was heavy on our minds the entire trip. Like almost everybody in the BMX world, we wanted to do what we could to help out.

By the end of the trip, I had talked to some of the riders and we decided that we would auction off some of their bikes to help out the Murray family with their mounting medical bills. We even had a few guys who weren’t on the trip who wanted to lend a hand and donate their bikes.

I am happy to tell you that we have a total of 11 complete bikes to auction off. All of these bikes are autographed by the rider who is donating it (except for the DC/SE P.K. Ripper). Each bike will also come with a autographed photo of the rider with the bike.
